Katy Perry has attracted the ire of a superfan in New York City whilst signing autographs outside the Standard Hotel.
Perry was on the cobbles sporting pink hair and a nose-ring when a number of fanatics began chatting to her.
Everything was going fine until Perry joshed about missing an absent superfan, who she even called her ‘number one’ fan because he never missed a show – unlike the fan in front of her at that moment.
Taylor Swift might start regretting her public display of venom aimed at former friend Katy Perry as her rival pop princess is planning a payback track to Bad Blood, tellingly titled Crocodile Tears.
The Roar singer is said to be in the recording studio working on the ultimate revenge anthem after Taylor released Bad Blood last year, which is said to be all about her rift with Perry.
And calling it Crocodile Tears suggests Katy doesn’t think Taylor’s been all that truthful or sincere over her beef with her – are we about to find out a whole lot more went on between the two?
At present, it’s 99.9% certain that their notorious feud erupted after Taylor gave an interview to Rolling Stone magazine last year in which she discussed her inspiration for 1989 album track Bad Blood. She explained it’s about her frustration at a fellow female singer who allegedly stole her backing dancers for her 1989 world tour from under her nose. And while Perry might not be mentioned in name, Taylor’s never come out and denied it is her.
WHAT TAYLOR SAID IN THAT INTERVIEW
It’s the interview that is said to have started the Taylor/Katy feud, so here’s what Taylor told Rolling Stone:
‘For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, “Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?”.
‘She did something so horrible. I was like, “Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.” And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour.
‘She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.
‘I don’t think there would be any personal problem if she weren’t competitive.’
