It’s been over a year since nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence — and a number of other female celebrities — were leaked online after being stolen from personal iCloud accounts.
Now, while promoting “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2,” Lawrence says she tries not to think about the leak often, but sometimes she can’t help it. “It was all pain and no gain,” she tells Vogue.
In the aftermath of the leak, Lawrence made it clear that she considered what happened a “sex crime.” “Anybody who looked at those pictures, you’re perpetuating a sexual offense. You should cower with shame,” she toldVanity Fair in October 2014. “I didn’t tell you that you could look at my naked body.”
While there was no upside to the situation, it did introduce somebody new into her life, though — her dog, Pippi.
When the hacking went public, Lawrence explains to Vogue her mother was visiting with a new puppy. “I was outside crying, and Pippi jumped up on my lap and started licking up all my tears, and I couldn’t put her down for hours,” she says. “And I mean, hours. I was like, ‘Well, obviously, you’re mine.’”
